Atlantic Power Corporation

Summary:
Atlantic Power Corporation was formed by ArcLight to monetize its interests in a portion of its portfolio of contracted power generating plants. Atlantic owns interest in a diversified portfolio of independent, non-utility power generation projects that are primarily situated in the U.S. Its portfolio consists of 15 generation plants that represent approximately 773 MW of electrical generating capacity. The plants sell electricity to utilities under long-term power purchase agreements. Atlantic’s objectives are to sustain and grow its cash distributions over the long term by enhancing performance of its existing assets and making accretive acquisitions.

The Fund sold the balance of its interest in Atlantic in a series of public and private offerings between 2005 and 2006.

Caithness Energy
Location: New York, NY

Summary:
Caithness Energy, LLC is a privately held independent power company headquartered in New York City specializing in power generation. Caithness’ primary focus for over 25 years has been the development, acquisition, operation and management of renewable energy projects as well as other environmentally friendly fossil fuel projects. Caithness also has been active in ownership, development and operation of over 2400 MW of operating power generation facilities including geothermal, wind, solar and natural gas-fired power plants.

In late 2007, Terra-Gen Power acquired ownership interests in 824 operating renewable energy projects from Caithness as well as the operating and management teams associated with the renewable projects.  Terra-Gen Power is backed by Fund III and Fund IV.  Also in late 2007, Caithness acquired Fund I's interest in the natural gas-fired Caithness Long Island Energy Center.

CPV Wind Ventures
Location: Braintree, MA

Summary:
CPV Wind Ventures, LLC was formed by ArcLight and Competitive Power Ventures to develop wind-powered generation facilities in North America. CPV Wind’s business consists of identifying, siting, permitting and contracting wind farm sites.
 
The Fund sold its interest in CPV Wind in April 2007 to an affiliate of Iberdrola, S.A., a major Spanish energy company and leading wind investor.

Crystal Creek Coalpower
Location: Venango County, PA
Initial Investment: 2003
Summary:
Crystal Creek Coalpower Funding, LLC owns an indirect interest in the Scrubgrass Generating Company, LP Scrubgrass is an 87 MW waste coal fired CFB generator, which sells all of its power to Pennsylvania Electric Company under a long-term contract expiring 2016.

The Fund sold its interest in Crystal Creek in June 2005.

Delta Person
Location: Alberquerque, NM

Summary:
Delta Person, LLC is the owner of a 140 MW gas-fired peaking power plant located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The facility sells 100% of its output to the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) under a long-term power purchase agreement that expires in 2020. The facility operates as a tolling plant, with PNM providing all the fuel and dispatching the plant as needed during peak hours.

The Fund monetized its position in Delta Person through an Initial Public Offering (Atlantic Power Corporation) in November 2004.    

Epsilon Power
Location: Carney's Point, NJ
Initial Investment: 2001
Summary:
Epsilon Power, LLC owns a partnership interest in the Chambers Cogeneration Plant, a 262 MW pulverized coal-fired cogeneration facility located at the DuPont’s Chambers Works chemical complex in Carney’s Point, New Jersey. The facility entered commercial operation in 1994 and sells electricity to Atlantic City Electric Company and electricity and process steam for sale to E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company for use in its industrial operations.

The fund sold its interest in Epsilon Power to Atlantic Power Corporation in September 2005. 
 

Fort Point Power
Location: Boston, MA

Summary:
Fort Point Power, LLC owns a portfolio of nine operating gas-fired power plants, which have a total generating capacity of approximately 425 MW. The plants are located throughout the U.S. and in Guam. All the projects sell their electrical output under long-term power purchase agreements that expire between 2007 and 2027. The majority of the projects also sell steam to thermal hosts under long-term steam supply arrangements that match the terms of the electricity contracts.

Fort Point Power was sold in November 2005 to Osaka Gas.

Global3 Energia
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Initial Investment: 2001
Summary:
Global3 Energia, SCPA was formed in 1997 to develop, own and operate power generation facilities in Spain. It is the largest foreign independent power producer in Spain. Global3 constructed five natural gas-fired plants with a net capacity of approximately 67 MW, which it sold in 2005. It also has a 180 MW gas-fired peaking plant under construction in Aragon.   

The assets of Global3 were sold in two transactions in 2005 and 2006.
 

Grant Peaking Power
Location: Manhattan, IL
Initial Investment: 2004
Summary:
Grant Peaking Power, LLC owns a 640 MW simple cycle natural gas fired peaking generation facility located in Manhattan, Illinois approximately 50 miles from Chicago.  The facility entered into commercial operations in June 2000 and sells 100% of its output to Exelon Generating Company under a long-term power purchase agreement.

The Fund sold its interest in Grant to the Tenaska Power Fund in October 2007.

Javelin Energy
Location: Morristown, NJ
Initial Investment: 2001
Summary:
Javelin Energy, LLC was formed to acquire a portfolio of operating power plants from Columbia Electric.  The portfolio consists of four operating plants: three natural gas-fired units and one wood-fired unit which have a total net capacity of 339 MW.

The Fund monetized its position in Javelin through an Initial Public Offering (Atlantic Power Corporation) in November 2004.    

Lincoln Peaking Power
Location: Crete, IL
Initial Investment: 2004
Summary:
Lincoln Peaking Power, LLC owns an interest in the Crete Generating Station. Crete is a 315 MW simple cycle, natural gas-fired peaking power plant located in Crete Illinois approximately 30 miles south of Chicago.  Crete began commercial operations in 2003 and sells 100% of its output to DTE Energy under a tolling arrangement.

The Fund sold its interest in Lincoln to the Tenaska Power Fund in October 2007.

Magellan Power
Location: 2005
Initial Investment: Piti, Guam
Summary:
Magellan Power Holdings, LLC owns a 50% interest in Marianas Energy Company.  MEC owns an 87 MW diesel-fired power plant located on the island of Guam.  MEC began commercial operations in 1999 and sells 100% of its output to the Guam Power Authority under a long-term tolling agreement. 

The Fund sold its interests in Magellan to Osaka Gas in March 2007.
 

MP Power
Location: Springfield, MA
Initial Investment: 2003
Summary:
MP Power, LLC owns an interest in MASSPOWER, a 240 MW gas-fired cogeneration facility in Springfield, Massachusetts.  The facility went into service in 1993 and sells the majority of its power under long-term power purchase agreements with Boston Edison Company, Commonwealth Electric Company and Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company.  The remaining capacity is sold in the New England wholesale generation market.

The Fund monetized its position in MP Power through an Initial Public Offering (Atlantic Power Corporation) in November 2004.    

Navy Power
Location: San Diego, CA
Initial Investment: 2005
Summary:
Navy Power Holdings, LLC owns lessor interests in three gas-fired cogeneration facilities in San Diego, California.  The plants have a combined generating capacity of 113 MW and sell 100% of their electric output to San Diego Gas and Electric under long-term power contracts.  Steam from the facilities is sold to the US Navy under long-term steam sales agreements.

In August 2007, the Fund sold the Navy Power lessor interests to Applied Energy, LLC, the site lessee and an affiliate of EPCOR Power LP.

Pomifer Power
Location: Auburndale, FL
Initial Investment: 2003
Summary:
Pomifer Power, LLC owns interest in a 153 MW gas and oil fired cogeneration facility located in Auburndale, Florida.  The facility went into service in 1994 and sells power to Florida Power Corp. under a long term power purchase agreement that expires in 2013.

Teton Power
Location: Boston, MA

Summary:
Teton Power Funding, LLC was formed to acquire a portfolio of 12 operating power plants from Aquila, Inc.  The facilities sell the majority of their power to utilities under long-term power purchase agreements.  Teton’s portfolio includes a net ownership interest of 643 MW with plants located in California, Florida, Georgia, Maine, New York, Washington, D.C. and Jamaica.

The Fund monetized its position in Teton Power through an Initial Public Offering (Atlantic Power Corporation) in November 2004.   
 

Umatilla Power
Location: Umatilla, FL
Initial Investment: 2005
Summary:
Umatilla Power, LLC owns a lessor interest in Lake Cogen, Ltd.  Lake is a 110 MW gas-fired power plant located in Umatilla, Florida that sells all of its power to Progress Energy Florida under a long-term power purchase agreement.

The Fund monetized its position in Umatilla Power through an Initial Public Offering (Atlantic Power Corporation) in November 2004.
